Steven Arthur Novit is a true Chicagoan, born into a lineage of five familial generations deeply rooted in real estate. Humble beginnings marked his early years, but his discipline, determination, and hard-core grit paved the way for a distinguished real estate and development career.
Novit’s great aunt Beatrice Nelson ignited his passion for real estate as she ran her brokerage in Lincoln Park, starting in the early 1970s. His grandmother, Arlene Novit, initiated and created the start of The Novit Soldit legacy as she worked as a licensed REALTOR® in Lincoln Park for over 30 years. This Modern Man previously worked at Sotheby’s International Realty before starting his team with Compass Real Estate, The Novit Soldit Group, with a footprint in Chicago and Miami. In 2025, he plans to launch Novit Construction with a potential Disney partnership. His ultimate goal is to develop a landmark high-rise in the Windy City.
"A Modern Man earns his stripes," says Novit. "He moves forward at an exponential speed while enduring storms and carrying his core principles." The best advice Novit received was, "It's not who you know or what you know; it's about who you are."
As a young man in the inner city of Chicago, basketball became an instrumental passion and form of therapy for Novit to overcome the challenges of everyday life. This sport taught him the value of being part of a team, leadership skills, and the growth needed to be a champion. Today, he runs after-school basketball programs for kindergarten through eighth-grade students in Chicago.
Leading with perseverance, integrity, and grit, Victoria Ossorio has successfully carved a niche in the luxury markets of Miami and Chicago as a global luxury real estate broker with The Novit Soldit Group at Jameson Sotheby’s. Transitioning from a career as a physician assistant to real estate, Ossorio knew that relentless drive and dedication to her clients would be instrumental for success.
“A Dynamic Woman manifests and instills her own destiny despite the challenges that life brings. She rises above the adversities in life and conquers every situation with integrity, dedication, and a growth mindset,”
— Victoria Ossorio
Ossorio’s greatest professional risk—switching careers from medicine to real estate—has paid off, allowing her to pursue her passion for helping clients find their dream properties. Her role involves building lifelong relationships and tailoring her services to her clients' specific needs. As a global ambassador for her international brokerage, she focuses on understanding their visions and helping them achieve their dreams of purchasing the perfect property.
Drawing inspiration from iconic figures like Audrey Hepburn, Princess Diana, and Beatrice Nelson, this Dynamic Woman embodies the “pay it forward” philosophy that these women represent. In addition to her professional achievements, Ossorio is committed to giving back to her community by volunteering at her local parish.
For the next generation of female leaders, this Dynamic Woman offers sage advice:
“Any failure in your career is an open opportunity for future success. Failures allow us to reconfigure our path, molding us into incredible Dynamic Women for future opportunities. Be open to change, allow closed doors to be a path to new successes, and always maintain a positive mindset about your career. It’s not how you start but how you finish that’s important.”
